Board Members:

We are seeking more board members to help lead the market! Board members meet one hour per month (virtual options are always available, in-person meetings happen occasionally in Madison). Help decide on important market items like policies, vendor selection, events, and more.

Market Volunteers:

We mostly need help during the market set up at take down, but there might be other opportunities depending on your interest. Please reach out to us at manager@monroestreetfarmersmarket.org if you have questions or would like to get connected.

We have three main volunteer shifts available:

Sundays 7:30 am - 9:30 am

  • Assist with market set up: including tents, tables, chairs, and signage

  • Help farmers and other vendors with set up if needed

  • Once the market starts, assist with kids activity table, market info table, photography/social media, or recycling program (volunteers can pick whichever task fits their interests)

Sundays: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Assist with market info booth, including processing and tracking SNAP/Double Dollars and Bike Benefits program

  • Assist with kids activity table

Sundays 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

  • From 12-1 when the market is still open: assist with kids activity table, market info table, photography/social media, or recycling program (volunteers can pick whichever task fits their interests)

  • Assist with market take down from 1-2pm. This includes taking down tents, tables, chairs, signage, trash, etc. Sanitize tables and chairs.

  • Help farmers and other vendors with take down if needed.

Ideally volunteers would volunteer at least once per month through the market season (May-October).

Other volunteer opportunities could include:

  • Kids/Craft Table Volunteer

  • Sustainability Volunteer (compost and recycling management and advocacy)

  • Market Event/Info Booth Substitute Volunteer
